Sarah Lewis
BACK
Sarah studied Textile Design at Nottingham Trent University and then went to work for the prolific Kent artist, Robert McKellar, who passed onto her the valuable knowledge he accumulated over 35 years, of painting still-lives.
One of Sarah's main influences has been the 18th century artist Chardin whose work has a beautiful softness and atmosphere that she tries to re create within her work.
She paints on canvas and linen, in oil or ink, and with a few simple brush strokes shows her skill in capturing the essence of the animal or bird.
