Clare Mitchell
BACK
Clare took her Foundation Course in Art & Design in 1996 at Hastings College of Art & Technology, following it with several Post Foundation courses in order to pursue her interest in life drawing. Clare worked for 8 years at a stained glass studio and helped produce work for windows in York Minster, Hastings Fishermen's Museum and many local churches.
Her subject matters are primarily land and seascapes painted in oil, and she prefers to paint on location, taking her little dog with her. She is an accomplished miniaturist and exhibits at the annual Royal Miniature Society show, Mall Galleries, London. Clare exhibits mainly in the South East and has her paintings in private collections at home and abroad, including that of Sir Ian McKellen.
